The Rescue Operation Of The Oyo Students has attracted the attention of Nigerians following the successful rescue of the students and teachers who spent 56 days in the kidnappers den after being abducted from the schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. This operation involved the Nigerian Army and many other security agencies, which was planned and well coordinated field operations for more than one month, which serve as the result of this successful rescued operation.
On the early hours of July 10, 2026, the oyo school and there teachers was rescued. The people of Ogbomoso, in Oyo State particularly were celebrating as they heard that the kidnap victims have regained there freeedom. This operation was a successful due to the role the Mililtary, intelligence personnels and the local security groups.

Major General Chinedu Nnebeife took over the office of the Nigerian Army’s 2 Division on 19 August, 2025. He won Major General Obinna Onubogu and the ceremony took place at Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment in Ibadan.
