Lebanese authorities have arrested Georges Dib, a popular TikTok influencer known as “Doctor Food.” He was taken from his home in Akkar, northern Lebanon, after being accused of manufacturing and trafficking narcotics hidden inside candy and other food products.

Dib has more than eight million followers online and had already been sentenced to life in prison in absentia for drug trafficking. Despite that, he continued posting videos on TikTok. Authorities say he will now be moved to a detention center in Mount Lebanon to face a new trial on further drug trafficking charges.
Dr. Food arrest in Lebanon
The case of Dr. Food arrest in Lebanon began two years ago when Lebanon’s judiciary issued a warrant accusing him of producing narcotics, smuggling them abroad, and hiding them in food products. Officials reported that narcotics were found in confectionery at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, allegedly prepared for shipment to a Gulf country.

However, Dib has denied the accusations in his videos and told his followers not to believe the reports. He continued to share cooking and lifestyle content, often featuring his daily life with his former wife, Shorouk, who is a Canadian of Palestinian origin with more than 15 million followers. The couple separated after she accused him of abuse and just recently she threw a “divorce party” in Lebanon that drew thousands of fans.
Following the case of Dr. Food arrest in Lebanon, Dib is expected to face another trial as authorities continue investigating claims that drugs were being produced and hidden in food products linked to his businesses.
