New details have emerged about the Miami Dade police pursuit hospital escape after a 35-year-old man reportedly escaped from a medical facility, stole a vehicle, and led police officers on a dangerous chase through several areas.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon in northwest Miami-Dade County. The chase ended after police used a tactical vehicle maneuver to stop the suspect. No injuries to police officers or bystanders were reported.
Police identified the suspect as Jordan Eugene Brown. He was arrested at the crash scene. The chase attracted public attention after television helicopters showed live footage of the vehicle avoiding police vehicles and driving into oncoming traffic.
The incident began at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, where Brown was receiving care under Florida’s Baker Act. The law allows a person to be held temporarily for a mental health evaluation without their consent in certain situations.
According to police reports, Brown reportedly avoided hospital security and ran out of the facility on foot into a nearby commercial area.

As the stolen car entered county roads, several law enforcement agencies worked together to track and stop the vehicle. Aerial footage showed the car moving dangerously through heavy afternoon traffic, crossing road dividers, and briefly driving against oncoming traffic.
State troopers tried several PIT maneuvers to stop the sedan, but Brown repeatedly regained control and continued driving. The chase eventually ended at the intersection of Northwest 17th Avenue and 79th Street when a trooper successfully stopped the vehicle against a curb.
After the car was stopped, officers surrounded the vehicle and arrested Brown. Paramedics also examined the woman whose car was stolen and confirmed that she did not suffer serious injuries during the incident.

Brown was taken to a local detention facility and faces several felony charges, including grand theft auto, carjacking, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and reckless endangerment.
Videos of the Miami Dade police pursuit hospital escape quickly spread across social media, leading to different reactions from local residents and legal commentators about public safety and police tactics.
