The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Oji Ama has ordered an Investigation into the Onitsha Head Bridge Shooting, after a gunshot incident in the area left some people injured. The Commissioner has directed a full and impartial investigation into the incident to establish what happened during a confrontation linked to an attempted arrest and determine why a gun was fired.
The incident happened in Onitsha, one of Anambra State’s major business areas. The police are urging residents to remain calm while the investigation continues to establish what really happened. This appeal matters alot because, a shooting in a busy area can create fear ,rumor and different vision of what haapaned .

After the incident, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Oji Ama, visited the injured victims at the hospital. He promised that the police would support them and said he would personally pay their medical bills..
While investigation continues., immediate attention is been given to the injured viticms. The CP’s visit signal the new Anambra police leadership’s approach to public safety and accountability.
The Commissione said that the police command would decisive action once the investigation is concluded.He also stated that the polic comand remains committed to professionalism, accountability, respect for human life, and upholding the law

However, this announcement does not mean that anyone is guilty or innocent at this stage. It simply means that the police leadership wants to investigate the situation fully before taking further action.
