The Broadway Tribute to Tim Curry brought an emotional moment to Studio 54 on wednesday night ,August 26, 2026.The cast of the Rocky Horror show honored the late actor, who died at his home in Los Angeles on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80.
His death marked the end of a remarkable career in stage, film, television, and voice acting, according to his manager. Tim Curry made history on Broadway as the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. The role became one of the most significant of his career.
Broadway Tribute to Tim Curry
Following the Broadway performance at Studio 54, Paul Soileau took the stage as Dr. Frank-N-Furter to honor Tim curry. He spoke about curry’s lasting influence on the character and the legacy he created through the role. The production has been running at Studio 54 since April 2026.
According to Soileau, Frank-N-Furter is a role that continues to lives on across generations. While Many actors have played the character, Curry was the orginal performer who set the sandard and establish its legacy. The theater filled with emotion as the audience broke into a sustained Chant of “Tim.”
Soileau also said that curry transformed O’Brien’s character into soneone relatable, allowing audience to recongnize parts of themselves in the role. More than 50 years later, the tribute proved that Curry remains deeply connected to The Rocky Horror Show and the character that became one of the most significant roles of his career
This was not only a farewell, its was a recongnition of the actor who helped establish one of the musicial theater’s most iconic characters.
Tim Curry originated the role of Frank-N-Furter in 1973, when Richard O’Brien created The Rocky Horror Show. The 1975 film adaptation turned the production into a cult hit and helped make Curry a star.
The Broadway Tribute to Tim Curry reached its emotional peak when three actors who have played Frank-N-Furter in Broadway productions, Paul Soileau , Luke Evans and Jake Shears.came together for the night ‘s big moment. They performed “I’m Going Home,” a song from The Rocky Horror Show. Other Broadway cast member, including Rachel Dratch , also took part in the performance.
Paul Soileau previously received a 2026 Tony Award nomination for his standout performance as Frank-N-Furter in the Broadway revival. He returned for several weeks before Jake Shears takes over on September 11, 2026.
