The Nigerian Meteorological Agency says that some parts of Nigeria will experience rainfall and thunderstorms, according to the NiMet forecast rainfall thunderstorm outlook for Monday, August 31, 2026. According to NiMet, the daily weather outlook for monday covers the period from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m with forcasts for different region across the country.
Parst of Northern nigeria will experience isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall in the morning with more rain and thunderstorms expected later in the afternoon and evening.
The agency also urged members of the public and airline operators to take precautions as the weather develops. Partly cloudy to cloudy condition are expected, with possible thunderstorm in Kebbi, Kaduna, Adamawa and Taraba states during the morning,

Parts of Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba states are also expected to experienced moderate rainfall during the day.
The NiMet forecast rainfall thunderstorm outlook also covers parts of FCT, Nasarawa, Benue and Niger states. during the morning. In the afternoon and evening Thunderstorms and moderate rainfall are expected across most parts of the central state.
The NiMet forecast rainfall thunderstorm outlook covers wide areas of southern Nigeria. moderate rain is expected in part of Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Edo, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and parts of the South-West. In the Afernoon and evening more moderate rain is expected across most part of the Southern State.
NiMet noted that while the forecast covers a broad area,rainfall intensity and timing may differ from place to place . Members of the public are advised to depend on local updates and official advisories when making decision.
Acording to NiMe, the predicted weather condition could lead to temporary flooding in low lying areas. areas with poor drainage system may also experience water accumulation during the period of moderate rainfall

Alongside its rainfall prediction, NiMet issued guidance for people travelling by road and motorists, advising them to drive carefully during thunderstorms and rainfall because visibility may be poor and roads can become slippery
