Iwo burning fuel tanker driver attracted attention after a petrol tanker caught fire shortly after unloading fuel at a filling station near Feesu Junction in Iwo, Osun State. The driver reportedly moved the burning tanker away from the busy area before separating the truck head from the tanker.
The incident happened on Thursday, September 17, 2026, opposite Lado Filling Station along the Iwo Ibadan Expressway. Thick smoke from the tanker caused concern among residents, traders and motorists in the area.
Reports said the tanker had finished unloading fuel before the fire started. Thick smoke filled the area, while the flames burned the rear tyres. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but the burning tanker posed a danger to nearby homes, shops and filling stations.

Witness Usain Taoreed said he saw thick smoke from the direction of Odo Ori Market and later found the burning tanker. He said at least three filling stations were nearby and praised the driver for moving the tanker away.
