APC Controls 29 of Nigeria’s 36 States Nationwide
The All Progressives Congress now controls 29 of Nigeria’s 36 states. This development highlights the party’s growing political influence across the country.
South-South Region
The APC governs all six states in the South-South region. These states are Delta, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Cross River, Rivers, and Bayelsa. The party now has full control of the oil-producing zone.
North-Central Region
The party also controls the entire North-Central region. Benue, Niger, Kwara, Nasarawa, Kogi, and Plateau are under APC leadership.
South-East Region
In the South-East, the APC governs Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo states. Abia remains under the Labour Party, while Anambra is governed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
South-West Region
The APC controls Lagos, Ekiti, Ogun, and Ondo states in the South-West. Oyo is governed by the Peoples Democratic Party. Osun remains under the Accord Party.
North-East Region
The APC governs four states in the North-East. These are Borno, Yobe, Taraba, and Gombe. Adamawa and Bauchi remain under PDP control.
North-West Region
The North-West remains a strong base for the APC. The party controls Katsina, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, and Kano. Zamfara remains under PDP leadership.
Overall, the APC controls 29 states across Nigeria, making it the dominant political party nationwide.
