Musk Addresses Allegations
Elon Musk has denied knowing about sexualised images of minors linked to Grok, the AI chatbot built by xAI and used on X.
On Wednesday, Musk said Grok does not create images on its own. Instead, it responds only to user requests.
Pressure Builds on X and xAI
Meanwhile, scrutiny around X and xAI continues to grow across several countries.
In the United States, Democratic lawmakers have asked Apple and Google to remove X from their app stores. They raised concerns over non consensual sexual images involving women and minors.
In addition, advocacy groups have also urged the tech companies to take similar action.
Platform Limits Image Tools
Last week, X restricted Grok’s image generation and editing tools for many users.
However, watchdog groups said the chatbot could still create explicit images. As a result, they warned that the limits may not go far enough.

Musk Defends Safety Measures
Musk said Grok is designed to refuse illegal requests. He also stressed that the system must follow local laws wherever it operates.
Furthermore, he warned that users who create illegal content would face serious consequences.
Global Legal Actions Emerge
In the United Kingdom, new laws will soon criminalise the creation of such images. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said X is working to meet the new rules.
At the same time, Malaysia and Indonesia have blocked Grok. Authorities in both countries have also started legal action against X and xAI.
Investigations Continue
Overall, regulators and watchdog groups continue to examine how AI tools handle harmful content.
