China Responds to U.S. Proposal
China has confirmed that the United States invited it to join President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza Peace Board. Officials in Beijing said they have not decided whether to take part.
The plan forms part of the ceasefire process between Israel and Hamas. President Trump described the board as a new way to address global conflicts.
Official Statement From Beijing
Speaking in Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun confirmed the invitation. He did not explain who received it or when China would respond.
Guo said relations between China and the United States remain mostly stable. He added that cooperation helps both countries, while conflict causes damage.
Global Leaders Also Invited
The United States has invited several other world leaders to join the board. These include India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.
U.S. officials say leaders from more countries have also received invitations.
Connection to Gaza Ceasefire
President Trump announced the board during the second phase of the Israel Hamas ceasefire talks. The initiative aims to support stability and peace after months of fighting.
In October, Israel and Hamas agreed to move forward with Trump’s peace framework for Gaza.
What to Expect Next
China has not shared a timeline for its decision. Other invited countries have also remained silent.
Diplomatic discussions continue as global leaders weigh their roles in the future of Gaza.
