Chevron Nigeria Limited has confirmed the discovery of hydrocarbons at the Awodi 07 appraisal well in the western Niger Delta.

Chevron drilled the Awodi 07 well in shallow offshore waters as part of its joint venture with NNPC Limited. The project aims to unlock more hydrocarbon resources within the area.
Drilling started in late November 2025 and ended in mid December 2025. The team completed testing, logging, and data collection. Engineers then secured the well safely.
The results confirmed hydrocarbons across several reservoir zones. NNPC Limited confirmed the findings but did not release additional details.
Chevron Nigeria and NNPC Limited jointly operate multiple oil and gas fields in Nigeria’s Niger Delta. The partners plan to raise oil production to about 146,000 barrels per day.
Chevron Nigeria operates the joint venture with a 40 percent stake. NNPC Limited holds the remaining 60 percent interest.
The discovery supports ongoing offshore exploration in the western Niger Delta and strengthens Nigeria’s oil and gas outlook.
