Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, has reportedly been shot dead in an armed attack in Zintan, Libya.
Media reports said the attack happened on Tuesday. Masked gunmen allegedly carried out the shooting at his residence.

Details of the Attack
According to a statement shared by a member of Gaddafi’s political team, four armed men stormed his home around midday. The attackers reportedly disabled surveillance cameras before confronting him.
The statement said the armed confrontation led to Saif al-Islam Gaddafi’s death. It did not identify those behind the attack.
His lawyer also confirmed to international media that a group of armed men killed him at his residence in Zintan.
Political Background
Saif al-Islam Gaddafi remained a key political figure in Libya after the 2011 uprising that ended his father’s rule.
Muammar Gaddafi governed Libya from 1969 until his death during the NATO-backed uprising in 2011.
Calls for Investigation
Following the incident, Gaddafi’s political team called on the Libyan judiciary and the international community to investigate the killing.
They urged authorities to identify those responsible, including anyone who planned the attack.

As of the time of reporting, authorities in Tripoli and Zintan had not released an official statement on the killing.
However, local media reports said the Libyan Attorney General’s Office has opened an investigation into the incident.
