Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured residents that political activities will not halt developmental projects in Abuja, including the forthcoming Area Council elections.

Wike made the statement during an inspection tour of ongoing projects across the FCT on Wednesday.

He emphasized that politics has its time, but governance and residents’ welfare must take priority. “Politics is different. You have to serve the people. Politics has its own time, and the work will continue to go on. Politics is not going to affect it,” Wike said.

The former Rivers governor also highlighted the importance of delivering visible results, assuring residents that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda would be reflected in quality projects.

“The only way to make sure that people will be happy and see that the Renewed Hope Agenda is real is to continue with the work,” he added.

Projects Under Inspection

During his tour, Wike inspected several key projects, including:

  • Institutional Research Road, linking Nile University, the Body of Benchers, and other institutions

  • Body of Benchers extension building

  • Seven-kilometre road corridor from Euclid Road through Bright Road to Tungan Madaki

These projects are part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and ensure sustainable development in the nation’s capital.
