An explosion struck a restaurant in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Monday, killing one Afghan security guard and injuring two Chinese nationals. The incident occurred in a central area of the capital and has raised renewed concerns about security in the city.
Details of the Explosion
Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry confirmed that several people were wounded in the blast. According to police officials, the explosion took place at a hotel restaurant in the Shahr e Naw district, a commercial area known for offices, shopping centers, and diplomatic missions.
Shahr e Naw is generally regarded as one of the safer parts of Kabul, making the incident particularly concerning for residents and visitors.

Emergency Response
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and transported the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. Chinese state media reported that two Chinese nationals were among those injured in the blast.
Authorities did not release further details on their condition at the time of reporting.
Security Situation and Investigation
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Since taking control of Afghanistan in 2021, the Taliban have pledged to maintain security across the country. However, attacks have continued in several regions.
Officials have previously linked similar incidents to militants associated with Daesh. Security agencies are continuing their investigation and monitoring the situation in Kabul.
