Ex Sokoto Senator Abubakar Gada Dumps ADC for PDP

Former Sokoto East senator, Abubakar Gada, has left the African Democratic Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party.

The defection comes six months after he joined the ADC. It also ends weeks of speculation about his political future in Sokoto State.

Why Abubakar Gada Left ADC

Speaking to supporters in Sokoto, Abubakar Gada said his decision was based on the need to rebuild the PDP in the state.

He said the party offers a stronger platform for political growth and stability.

According to him, Sokoto politics needs structure, commitment, and active leadership.

Allegations Against Aminu Tambuwal

Gada accused former Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, of failing to fully commit to the ADC.

He said both of them were initially seen as leaders of the party in Sokoto.

However, he noted that leadership requires responsibility and visible participation.

Concerns Over ADC Leadership

The former senator said Tambuwal’s limited involvement in ADC activities created doubts.

He added that the lack of clear leadership weakened confidence in the party.

Gada said these concerns influenced his decision to return to the PDP.

Political Defection in Sokoto

The move adds to recent political defections in Sokoto.

It also highlights growing shifts within Nigerian politics ahead of future elections.
