Nepal’s Former ministers were jailed  For Fake Bhutanese refugee Scam.

The Nepal’s former ministers were jalied after the Kathmandu District court found them guilty in the fake Bhutanese refugees Scam.The case involved forged documents that falsely identified the Nepal citizen as Bhutanese refugees who were qualified for resettlement in the United States.

 

 

 

This case has attracted the public attention in Nepal, and as well as international attention  because its was  allegedly involved by two former ministers and senior government officials who was accused of  abusing their  powers and also involved in the fake Bhutanese refugees resettlement to the United States

Nepal’s former ministers were jalied

Nepal former Deputy prime minister,and  former Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi was sentenced to four years in prison  by the Kathmandu Court  after they find out that he was inoived in state offences, organized crime and  fraud.

 

 

 

The Kathmandu Court also sentenced Former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand for two yeasrs in prison for being an accomplice for this scam operation.

 

According to the Kathmandu Court,  they said that During ivestigation, the officer find out that  this two  politicians has collected a huge amount of money from the  Victims  and promised them that they will be qualifed for international refugee resettled in the United States.

 

 

During the Court proceedings,The both former ministers denied any wrongdoing, following the final  judgement  made by the court, their legal team said that the two ministers will applied for an appeals through the Nepal’s high court which is  the legal option  that is available for  an individual after been convicted  by the country law.

 

 

The fake Bhutanese refugees Scam has become one of the Nepal most serious criminal and corruption cases in the country  after the two Nepal’s former ministers were jalied. even though their legal team is applying for an appeals, the court conviction still remains active untill  the court canceled it.
