NNPP Rejects Planned Protest Against INEC
The New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP has denied any link to a planned protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC set for Tuesday January 20 2026.
In a statement issued on Monday from its National Secretariat in Abuja, the party said claims connecting it to the protest were false.
The NNPP explained that an illegal group is organizing the demonstration while pretending to act for the party. It said the individuals involved are not members of the NNPP.
The party referred to a Federal High Court ruling delivered on April 18 2024. In the case marked FHC ABJ CS 1354 2024, the court confirmed that the group lost its NNPP membership after the party expelled them.
According to the NNPP, the individuals did not appeal the judgment. Instead, they continue to seek court orders without legal backing.
The party said courts dismiss their claims once judges hear the full facts.
The NNPP stressed that it has no plans to protest against INEC. It described the protest organizers as impostors.

The party also advised its members across the country to stay calm. It warned them not to fall for actions meant to distract the party from its goals.
