Atiku Criticises Tinubu Administration
Atiku blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he described as poor governance.
He argued that the party has failed to fulfil its campaign promises.
Furthermore, he said no military government before 1999 damaged Nigeria’s national life the way the present administration has.
ADC Seen as Alternative Platform
Meanwhile, Atiku welcomed the growing alliance of politicians under the ADC.
He noted that the movement offers a new opportunity to reposition the country.
In addition, he explained that political loyalty should not be rigid. Instead, it should encourage accountability, transparency, and inclusion.
Political Loyalty and Sacrifice
Atiku also said loyalty often comes at a personal cost.
For instance, some politicians have faced exile or assassination attempts because of their convictions.
As a result, he stressed that true loyalty must protect the dignity of every citizen.
Aregbesola Warns APC Ahead of 2027
Following Atiku’s remarks, ADC National Secretary Rauf Aregbesola warned the APC against assuming victory in the 2027 elections.
According to him, governors alone do not determine election outcomes.
Rather, the people decide through their votes.
Doctrine of Necessity Clarified
During the event, former Senate President David Mark corrected a historical reference in the book.
He clarified that the Doctrine of Necessity was initiated solely by the National Assembly, not by any governors’ forum.
Book Launch Draws Political Stakeholders
Overall, the book examines loyalty, leadership, and conscience in Nigerian politics.
Consequently, the launch attracted lawmakers, ADC leaders, former government officials, and political observers.
Efforts to reach presidential aides for reactions were unsuccessful, as they did not respond to calls or messages.
