Several auto crashes occurred on major Lagos roads on Sunday. The incidents caused heavy traffic and stranded many motorists for hours.
The crashes affected the Lagos Ibadan Expressway and Ikorodu Road. As a result, traffic slowed across nearby routes.

Chain Crash on Lagos Ibadan Expressway
A major crash happened at Kara Bridge on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway. A truck carrying flour overturned during the incident.
The crash also involved a Toyota Corolla, a Toyota RAV4 SUV, and two interstate Mazda buses. The vehicles blocked several lanes inward Mowe.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority confirmed the crash through a public update. Traffic built up quickly and stretched toward Alausa Secretariat.
Motorists reported long delays from the afternoon into the evening.
LASTMA officers arrived early and began clearing the road. They removed the vehicles and reopened some lanes. This action helped ease the gridlock.
Traffic officers also controlled congestion in Magodo, Omole Junction, and Ogunnusi Road. They worked with the Federal Road Safety Corps to manage traffic.
Crash Reported on Ikorodu Road
Another crash occurred along the Ojota inbound Ketu section of Ikorodu Road. A commercial Volkswagen bus hit two other vehicles.
The bus driver suffered fractures in the collision.
Preliminary checks showed that a Toyota Sienna slowed to allow pedestrians to cross. A mini truck stopped behind it. However, the commercial bus approached at high speed and failed to stop.
LASTMA officials reached the scene within minutes. They used rescue tools to free the trapped driver. Medical workers then took him to a nearby hospital.
The quick response helped prevent further crashes. Traffic flow later returned to normal.
Police officers from the Area H Ogudu Division secured the area. They also managed the crowd during rescue operations.
Lagos Government Urges Road Safety
The Lagos State Government called on motorists to drive with caution. Officials urged drivers to obey speed limits and stay alert on busy roads.
Authorities praised traffic officers for their fast response. They stressed that patience and road discipline can save lives.
LASTMA management reaffirmed its commitment to traffic monitoring and emergency response. The agency also urged road users to follow traffic rules at all times.
