At least 30 Palestinians, including women and children, died in Israeli strikes across Gaza. Hospitals reported this as one of the highest death tolls since the ceasefire began in October 2025.

The strikes hit several locations, including an apartment building in Gaza City and a tent camp in Khan Younis. An airstrike on a police station in Gaza City killed at least 14 people, including officers, civilians, and inmates, according to Shifa Hospital.

Israel Responds to Ceasefire Violations

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the strikes targeted sites after Hamas allegedly violated the ceasefire. The IDF said:

“Hamas uses civilian areas and infrastructure as shields for terrorist activities. We will act against any ceasefire violations.”

Nasser Hospital reported that the tent camp strike caused a fire that killed seven people, including a father, his three children, and three grandchildren. The Gaza City apartment strike killed three children, their aunt, and grandmother. Additional deaths occurred in Jabaliya refugee camp.

Hamas Condemns Strikes

Hamas called the attacks a “renewed flagrant violation” and urged the United States and other mediators to pressure Israel to stop the strikes.

Despite the ceasefire, casualties in Gaza continue. Since October 10, 2025, Gaza’s Health Ministry recorded at least 520 Palestinians killed by Israeli fire. Saturday’s toll far exceeded the daily average.

Rafah Crossing Reopens Soon

The strikes came a day before the Rafah crossing with Egypt is scheduled to open. The crossing has been mostly closed during the conflict. Palestinians rely on it for medical treatment and humanitarian aid.

Opening Rafah is part of the second phase of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire. The plan also includes demilitarizing Gaza and establishing a new government to oversee reconstruction.
