FlySafair Fuel Surcharge has been introduced by South African low cost airline FlySafair after aviation fuel prices increased dramatically in recent weeks. The airline announced that the temporary surcharge will begin on Thursday as it tries to offset part of the unexpected cost surge.
The FlySafair Fuel Surcharge comes after the price of Jet A1 aviation fuel at airports across South Africa rose by roughly 70 percent within a single week. According to the airline, the sharp spike forced it to introduce additional charges on some flights to maintain operations.
