The FBI has released new images of a masked person as investigators intensify efforts to find Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of US news anchor Savannah Guthrie.

Authorities are trying to identify the individual, who they say was armed, more than eight days after the 84-year-old disappeared from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Officials believe she was taken against her will.

Nancy Guthrie went missing overnight and was last seen on January 31. On Monday, Savannah Guthrie said her family believes their mother is still alive and appealed again for public help.

New Surveillance Footage Emerges

According to the FBI, investigators recovered previously inaccessible surveillance images from Nancy Guthrie’s home. FBI Director Kash Patel said the footage shows an armed individual tampering with the front door camera on the morning of her disappearance.

Officials explained that some recordings were lost or corrupted after recording devices were removed. The newly released videos show the suspect approaching the home, checking the camera, and covering the lens with vegetation.

Savannah Guthrie shared the footage on Instagram, urging anyone who recognizes the person to contact authorities. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home,” she said.

Investigation and Timeline

Last week, Pima County officials said the home’s doorbell camera disconnected at 1:47 am local time. Motion activity was recorded shortly after at 2:12 am. At 2:28 am, the app connected to Nancy Guthrie’s pacemaker also disconnected from her phone.

Police later found blood on her porch. Tests confirmed it belonged to Nancy Guthrie.

Ransom Demands and Reward

Authorities are also investigating ransom emails sent to US media outlets. The messages demanded payment in Bitcoin and set deadlines, which have since passed. Officials arrested one person in connection with a hoax ransom note.

The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s safe return. Her family has said they are willing to pay for her release.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that President Donald Trump has reviewed the footage. She urged anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
