The recent Super Eagles airport transport AFCON qualifier arrangements have caused a lot of discussion among Nigerian football fans on social media. After the team arrived at Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, videos appeared online showing some of the players being transported in older cars, including 2008 Toyota Avalons and other modest vehicles.

The videos quickly attracted mixed reactions. Some people questioned the type of transport provided for the national team, while others said the vehicles were simply part of the local transport arrangements.

The Super Eagles travelled to Akwa Ibom State to prepare for their first Group L match in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar. Despite the discussions about their airport transport, the team continued with their preparations for the important match.

Some critics said the use of older vehicles could make Nigerian football administration look less professional. Many fans also compared the situation with the transport arrangements used by national teams in other countries during official matches.

The Super Eagles held their first training session on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, also known as the Nest of Champions. A total of 23 players took part in the evening training.

The session focused mainly on light exercises, recovery activities, and simple tactical drills. The aim was to help the players prepare for the upcoming match without putting too much pressure on them after their long journeys.

Team leaders, including captain Wilfred Ndidi and winger Samuel Chukwueze, took part fully in the training. The coaching staff planned the session to help the players recover from travel fatigue after arriving in Akwa Ibom from different locations.
