El-Sisi Demands Unhindered Humanitarian Aid
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed that humanitarian aid must reach Gaza without delay or obstruction. He urged the full implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire and called for immediate redevelopment efforts to restore dignity and stability to Palestinian lives.
Speaking during the anniversary of Egyptian Police Day, El-Sisi highlighted Egypt’s commitment to enforcing the ceasefire. He warned against any actions that could weaken or undermine the agreement.
Egypt’s Central Role in Peace Efforts
The Sharm El‑Sheikh ceasefire agreement shows Egypt’s dedication, along with its partners, to maintain peace in Gaza. El-Sisi emphasized the need to stop systemic oppression and prevent any attempt to displace Palestinians from their homeland.
He added that obstructing the ceasefire or aid delivery would worsen the humanitarian crisis and increase regional instability.
Risks of Mass Displacement
El-Sisi warned that nearly 2.5 million Palestinians in Gaza could face displacement if the ceasefire fails. Such a scenario would likely trigger migration to Europe and other Western countries, creating serious security, economic, and social challenges worldwide.
“Displacement of this magnitude would not only destroy the Palestinian cause but also create problems no country could manage effectively,” he said.
Call for Immediate Redevelopment
The President urged swift action to rebuild Gaza’s infrastructure and livelihoods. He stressed that redevelopment is essential to provide residents with a dignified life and ensure long-term peace in the region.
