Read Time:1 Minute, 37 Second

Israeli strikes on Hamas police officers have intensified over the weekend , with multiple attacks hitting security officials in the Hamas-run administration across Gaza strip. Palestinian officials report that several police and security officers were killed or injured in strikes carried out in central and northern Gaza.

On Sunday, an Israeli drone hit a car in Deir al-Balah, killing Col. Wael Al-Ladawi, who led the Internal Security Service in central Gaza, along with Maj. Ramez Abu Zureiq. Palestinian sources said that Al-Ladawi had recently led security crackdowns on armed groups and also on people accused of working with Israel.

On Saturday, an Israeli strike killed Brig. Gen. Abdel Nasser Al-Maqadma, the police chief of North Gaza, while he was driving through Gaza City. Another Israeli strike in Jabalia critically injured the local police commander. In a separate incident, Lt. Col. Yamen Obeid died from wounds he had suffered in an earlier Israeli attack on July 14.

Gaza’s Interior Ministry accused Israel of deliberately targeting the police force to weaken public security and cause instability in the territory. The ministry urged the international community and mediating countries to pressure Israel to stop attacking police officers. Palestinian authorities said at least 49 police and security personnel have been killed since the ceasefire began in October 2025.

On Saturday, Israeli strikes hit several areas across southern, central, and northern Gaza. One attack near the entrance of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah killed a man running a tobacco stand and injured at least 14 others nearby, including civilians. Another strike in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis reportedly killed two Palestinians.

Israeli strikes on Hamas police officers are happening alongside wider military operations across Gaza. Israeli officials have not yet commented on these specific attacks, while fighting and air raids continue in different parts of the territory.
