The Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State has launched a mass vaccination campaign against measles and rubella.

The initiative aims to protect children and prevent outbreaks of these life-threatening diseases. In addition, it seeks to raise awareness about the importance of immunisation.
Chairman Emphasizes Vaccines’ Importance
LCDA Chairman Lukman Agbaje said the health and wellbeing of children is a top priority.
He added that vaccines are one of the most reliable public health tools globally. Therefore, parents and community leaders must support the campaign.
“The health of our children remains a top priority,” Agbaje said. “I call on parents, schools, and community leaders to cooperate with health officials.”
How the Vaccination Will Be Conducted
The campaign will include house-to-house visits and vaccination points across all wards in Ayobo-Ipaja.
This approach ensures easy access for all residents. In addition, Agbaje assured the public that trained and certified health officers will administer the vaccines.
He emphasized that the vaccination is safe, effective, and completely free.
However, he warned residents against misinformation and rumors that could discourage participation.

Community Leaders Show Support
Community leader Joseph Oloyede expressed full support for the initiative. He said the community development association will mobilize residents to participate actively in the campaign.
Oloyede stressed that cooperation from all families is essential for the program’s success.
Promoting Public Health and Safety
The campaign highlights the LCDA’s commitment to building a safer and healthier community. Residents are encouraged to take part and protect children from preventable diseases.
In addition, the campaign serves as a reminder of the importance of vaccination in maintaining public health.
