Emirates, Air Peace sign interline deal to expand air connectivity
Emirates and Air Peace have signed a bilateral interline agreement. The deal will expand air connectivity between West Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom.
Air Peace announced the development on Monday. According to the airline, the agreement allows passengers to travel on a single ticket. It also includes through-checked baggage to final destinations.
As a result, travellers from West and Central Africa can now connect more easily to Dubai and London.
“We are expanding Africa’s access to the world,” Air Peace said in a statement shared on social media.
The airline explained that the agreement enables smoother connections from Nigeria and other African countries to global destinations. Importantly, passengers will enjoy a more seamless travel experience.
Furthermore, the deal strengthens the existing partnership between the two airlines. Gulf News described it as a move that improves connectivity across Africa, Dubai, and London.
Under the agreement, passengers can now connect from 13 Nigerian cities. In addition, routes now include Banjul in The Gambia and Dakar in Senegal via Abidjan. Travellers can also connect from Freetown in Sierra Leone and Monrovia in Liberia through Accra.
Speaking on the agreement, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, said the partnership expands the airline’s reach in Africa.
According to him, the deal creates more opportunities for travellers. It also helps international tourists explore Africa through Lagos.
Kazim added that Emirates remains committed to supporting Nigeria’s aviation, tourism, and trade sectors through strategic partnerships.
Meanwhile, Air Peace’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, described the agreement as a major milestone.
He said the deal aligns with Air Peace’s goal of connecting Africa more efficiently to global markets.
By combining Air Peace’s strong regional network with Emirates’ global reach, Ngala noted that passengers will enjoy better connectivity. He added that the partnership also improves travel experience and access to key international destinations.
Overall, the agreement marks a significant step toward improving global air travel options for African passengers.
