Access Bank Appoints Ifeyinwa Osime as Board Chair
Access Bank Plc has named Ifeyinwa Osime as the new chair of its board of directors. The appointment followed the retirement of Paul Usoro on January 29.
The bank disclosed the decision in a notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Ltd.
Experience on the Access Bank Board
Osime joined the Access Bank board in November 2019 as an independent non executive director. She later chaired the Human Resources and Sustainability Committee.
She also led the Governance Nomination and Remuneration Committee. These roles allowed her to support leadership development and governance standards at the bank.
Legal and Corporate Background
Outside Access Bank, Osime serves as a director at Ebudo Trust Ltd. She is also a partner at McPherson Legal Practitioners.
At the firm, she advises clients on corporate and commercial matters. She also supports long term business strategy and compliance.
Professional Memberships and Affiliations
Osime belongs to the Nigerian Bar Association and Women Corporate Directors Nigeria Chapter. She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria.
In addition, she serves on the executive committee of the Women Sectoral Group within the institute.
Social Impact and Advocacy
Beyond her professional work, Osime focuses on youth mentorship. She also supports inclusion initiatives.
She is actively involved in the Autism and Developmental Delays Support Community.
Statement From Access Bank Leadership
Group chairman Aigboje Aig Imoukhuede described Osime as a principled and experienced leader. He said she understands the bank’s strategy and values.
According to him, her leadership will help Access Bank deliver sustainable value to shareholders and stakeholders. He added that the bank remains focused on becoming a globally respected African institution.
Imoukhuede also praised Paul Usoro for his service. He acknowledged Usoro’s contributions and leadership during his tenure.
